Partner

Harrison Grant is looking at recruiting an additional partner. You will either be a partner in a law firm or an experienced solicitor looking for partnership. You may have a specialism in one of our core areas (environmental, public and planning law) or maybe a related area such as procurement, charity or information law or commercial litigation. You will want to work in a small highly regarded firm where quality of life is important and will be confident that you have a following who will appreciate the hands on approach and lower overheads of a smaller firm.

Harrison Grant is seeking to recruit a recently qualified solicitor. We are looking for a recently qualified solicitor who is likely to be between NQ and 3 PQE. You must have an interest in environmental law and want to work for a small firm that can offer interesting work and a supportive working environment.

You may be looking for a different environment than a large city law firm or looking to change career and practise environmental and public law. Ideally you will have some litigation, public law, environmental and/or planning law experience although that is not essential.

Job Description / Person Specification

Based: Barbican, London, EC2

You must:

  • Be a qualified solicitor or due to qualify in September.
  • Have excellent academics including at least a 2:1 degree
  • Good communication and drafting skills with excellent written and spoken English
  • Have an interest in environmental, planning and/or public law and an understanding of litigation and judicial review
  • Excellent research skills
  • Strong keyboard/IT skills, a good knowledge of Microsoft Office and a flair for picking up new software
  • Good attention to detail
  • A flexible approach

At NQ level you will be paid £35,800 pa

Intern

Harrison Grant is seeking to recruit a paid intern on a 6 month contract. We are looking for someone with a law degree, GDL and/or experience of working in a law firm, an interest in environmental law and who wants to work in a small firm carrying out high profile and interesting work.

Job Description / Person Specification

Job Title: Legal Intern Job Type: Full Time Duration: 6 Months Based: Barbican, London, EC2

Job Description: You will assist with all aspects of office and legal work in the office including:

  • Legal research in support of cases;
  • Undertaking research for articles;
  • Liaising with clients, the court and barristers;
  • Attending hearings;
  • Assisting in administrative tasks including preparing court bundles, filing and office administration

You must:

  • Have a completed law degree or a GDL
  • Have an interest in environmental, planning and/or public law and an understanding of environmental campaign groups
  • Be able to work full-time for a minimum of six months
  • Have a good standard of written and spoken English
  • Strong keyboard/IT skills, a good knowledge of Microsoft Office and a flair for picking up new software
  • Good attention to detail
  • A flexible approach
  • An understanding of and commitment to strict client confidentiality

You will be paid £19,500 pa (pro rata).
